One

I'm not sure what transformation happens at the age of one, but each of my boys have gone through it and Tayson is no exception. In the last few months he has perfected the art of playing in toilet water, dumping out boxes of cereal, getting on the table and dumping half eaten bowls of cereal, and emptying every drawer, bin, and cupboard in the house. Oh yeah, and the other day he figured out how to climb up to the bathroom sink. It blows my mind how fast he can get into trouble and how quick he can undo everything I do! He is exhausting, but oh so sweet. He gives the sweetest hugs-- he wraps his little arms around your neck, grabs on, and squeezes for all he's worth. Then he gives you a pat on the back and a big, open mouth, slobbery kiss all over your face (still grabbing on to shirt and hair so you can't escape the slobber!)

He is under the impression that he is just as big and capable as all his brothers. If they go out to play, he thinks he should be right behind them. He has had fun breaking in the new sandbox. He has been in it a few times and is finally starting to get the picture that eating the sand isn't such a good idea!
Tayson is definitely not lacking for love. His brothers just adore him--except for when he insists on turning the TV off and on over and over. They pick him up and tote him all over the place. They love to be silly and crack him up.

Tayson is so expressive. He knows a few signs that we have taught him. He just looks pleased as punch when he signs "brush teeth" when the big boys are getting ready for bed, or when he signs "bath" when I start taking off his clothes and he wants to play in the tub. He is also saying some words-- ball, mama, dada, "co" (short for Bronco the dog), guck (which, of course is milk).

I know, I know. This time goes by so fast and someday when my boys are all big I'll look back at these times and wish they were little. But in the meantime, I just hope I survive the one year old flurry!
