New Wheels

Last week I got a phone call from Clint with the news that he and Rylan had been rear-ended. Moments like that really make you take stock. Was the car seat put in right, did I tell them I loved them, were we ready for something like this to happen, etc. Thankfully, the van took the worst hit. Both Clint and Rylan only had slightly sore necks and Clint had a bruise on the back of his head. They were on their way to take Bronco to get his shots. He usually sits in the back and had just jumped over the seats a few minutes early. We were so grateful that everyone, including the dog, made it out safe and sound.

The van didn't fare so well. The damage was estimated to be about $1000 dollars more than the blue book value, so they totalled it. Normally I would say that you never come out ahead when you get in an accident, but we were actually planning on getting something different in the next year or so anyway. The insurance company was amazingly fast and fair. They gave us the blue book value on the van and we got the check in less than a week after the accident. After a crazy search for a new vehicle, we finally stumbled on to a 2006 Toyota Sienna, the day after they gave us a check. We are so grateful that everything went so well with a bad situation.
