A Child's Prayer

Tonight Clint decided to take the boys over to the park to play baseball. When it came time to go, Ethan couldn't find his mitt anywhere so he had to stay and look while the others left. He was in tears and proclaimed dramatically, "Now I'll never get to play baseball again." I helped him look for quite a while and couldn't find it anywhere. I reminded him to say a prayer that he would be able to find it. After a few more minutes of tears and a few reminders of faith and patience, the thought came to me that he probably hadn't used it since baseball ended. I looked in the trunk of Clint's car and there it was. Ethan couldn't believe it. He broke into happy tears and gave me a big hug. It was a great experience for him to actually have his own prayer answered. It's a good thing we are so scatter-brained around here so we have plenty of opportunities to teach the power of prayer! I know Heavenly Father listens to and answers all prayers, but I think He gives priority status to the sweet prayer of a child.
