A Little Redemption
It is no secret that Tayson's sleeping habits have been been the source of heavy eyelids for quite a while. We see some improvement, but just when I think he's finally getting into a good routine of sleeping at night and taking good naps, he throws me a curve ball. Well tonight was a bit of redemption for all the hard nights he's given me. I was in the bath relaxing after a long day. Clint had gotten the boys ready for bed. Things quieted down after they all went back downstairs and I went back to reading. Soon I could hear Tayson's little shuffle as he crawled across the floor and then I could hear him breathing under the door. He loves to try to peak under closed doors. I started talking to him, but soon I couldn't hear him anymore. I figured Clint had come and taken him back downstairs. I got out of the bath, got dressed and turned out all the lights upstairs. I went downstairs and everyone was sitting quietly watching the end of a movie-- all except Tayson. I asked Clint where he was and his reply was, "I thought he was up with you." So I went upstairs a little worried about having lost our baby. I stood quietly in the hall and could hear him breathing. I guess when he saw I was busy taking a bath, he decided to take care of bedtime himself. He went into his room, pulled his favorite blanky out through the rungs of his crib, and curled up on the floor to go to sleep. So after all the less than perfect nights of sleep, putting himself to bed is a good step in the right direction!!!

Maybe that is what you should do all the time. Let him put himself to bed! Thats a funny story.
